of »Highly Equipped Buildings and Research Infrastructures«
in combination with
Director Research Buildings and Procurement
to begin in summer semester 2021. The position is a tenured W3 position.
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering and in the future to the TUM School of Engineering and Design. It will play an active role in the development of an integrated research network on construction process management and real estate development. In connection with the appointment, the foundation of a „Centre for Integrated Construction Process Management and Real Estate Development – CiBI“ is also intended. By connecting the professorship at TUM with the Directorate of Research Buildings and Procurement at the headquarters of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the administration of Fraunhofer will be directly linked to the research and teaching context of TUM, thus offering a real test environment.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the supervision and promotion of young scientists. We are looking for an expert in the research field of construction management of highly technically equipped buildings (research buildings, hospitals, airports, etc.), with a focus on technical building equipment and its interaction with the building itself as well as the planning and life cycle management of these buildings. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university‘s bachelor and master programs. The professorship is combined with the management of the department „Research Buildings and Procurement“ at the central office of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. In this organizational unit, the departments of purchasing and equipment management as well as construction and real estate are responsible for the overall technical processes and the control of decentralized activities at the institute‘s locations. The task of the director is to lead the departments into the digital age. This task includes committee activities of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft as well as the representation of the executive board for finances and digitization with external partners.
A university degree, an above-average doctorate or a comparable special qualification for scientific work as well as special pedagogical aptitude are required. You have a high scientific reputation, several years of management experience in science management, the ability to initiate and manage cooperative research projects and to raise third-party funds (DFG, EU, AiF). Furthermore, we expect full commitment to international, interdisciplinary research as well as experience in the planning and realization of high-tech building services and their integration into buildings.
The professorship is granted leave of absence for half of a full position at Fraunhofer.
