Full-time doctoral positions in the Graduate
School "Intelligent Methods for Semiconductor
Test and Reliability"
GRADUATE SCHOOL "INTELLIGENT METHODS FOR SEMICONDUCTOR TEST AND RELIABILITY" | AS SOON AS POSSIBLE | EG 13 TV-L | FULL-TIME
The newly established Graduate School "Intelligent Methods for Semiconductor Test and Reliability" (GS-IMTR) at the University of Stuttgart in cooperation with ADVANTEST invites applications for full-time doctoral positions initially for 3 years with a possible extension to 4 years (research assistant, TV-L 13) to begin as soon as possible in 2019.
GS-IMTR is an interdisciplinary graduate school combining research expertise from computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, and beyond. GS-IMTR is funded by ADVANTEST, a major global manufacturer of automatic test equipment for integrated circuits. Its overall aim is to develop new methods for topics such as design for test and diagnosis; post-silicon validation; test generation and optimization; robust device tuning; system-level test; lifetime test and reliability management; and test automation. A modern understanding of these topics demands novel artificial intelligence methods and has tight connections to data science, data analytics, data understanding, visualization, security, and privacy.
A structured doctoral program includes a supervision concept, measures for international mobility and a research stay abroad, as well as a tailored qualification program with subject-based and soft-skill courses.
Positions are being offered in a first call in the following research projects:
Systematic Analysis of System-Level Test Fails (P1)
Visual Analytics for Post-Silicon Validation (P2)
Self-Learning Test Case Generation for Post-Silicon Validation (P3)
Secure and Privacy-Preserving Semiconductor Testing (P4)
Applicants should hold a master‘s or equivalent degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline with above-average results. They are expected to show a high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English.
Please send your application (cover letter, academic CV, letter of motivation indicating your favorite project(s), degree certificates and transcripts of records from Bachelor / Master, names of potential academic referees) either by post to
Prof. Dr. Dirk Pflüger
Institute for Parallel and Distributed Systems

or electronically in a single PDF file (up to 10 MB) to firstname.lastname@example.org to arrive no later than September 5th, 2019. As there will be a second call for further doctoral positions in the near future, later submissions might be taken into consideration.
The University of Stuttgart is an equal opportunity employer. Applications from women are strongly encouraged. Severely challenged persons will be given preference in case of equal qualifications.
