The Department of Economics at the University of Bonn, Germany, invites
applications for an
Assistant Professorship (W1 Juniorprofessur) in Economic History, fixed-term,
starting as soon as possible. Formal requirements are regulated by §36
Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz des Landes
The position is initially offered for a three-year period and, subject to a positive
mid-term evaluation, extended by another three years. The teaching load
generally corresponds to one course per semester. All teaching at the
graduate level is conducted in English. Teaching at the undergraduate level
can be conducted in English or German. Candidates are expected to demonstrate
excellent research potential in economic history and be able to teach courses
in the field of macroeconomics at the graduate level.
