The
Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald
aims to appoint
up to 6 Alfried Krupp Senior Fellows
during the academic year 2024/25
The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald
is an independent
institute for advanced study located
in the center of the historic city of Greifswald
near the Baltic Sea. 2002, the Kolleg was
established by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und
Halbach-Stiftung in cooperation with the state of
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the University of
Greifswald to advance the excellence and the international
research profile of the University of
Greifswald.
The Alfried Krupp Fellows program, which is a
major pillar of the Kolleg’s work, was launched in
2007 and has since been generously funded by the
Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation.
The program gives senior and younger scientists
the opportunity to focus on a major research project,
free from teaching and administrative obligations
of normal university life.
Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowships will be awarded
to outstanding senior scientists who are qualified
by their achievements in research and teaching.
Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships will be awarded
to highly promising younger post-doctoral scholars.
Fellows will be invited for one semester (October
1 – March 31 or April 1 – September 30) or for
an academic year (October 1 – September 30). An
office and an apartment in the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg
will be offered to each fellow
free of charge. In addition, fellows will be awarded
a monthly fellowship that takes into account the
high expectations concerning the fellows’ scientific
achievements. The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg
supports applicants
who would like to pursue
their fellowship accompanied by their partner
and/or children.
Applications should be submitted as a single PDF
file and include a curriculum vitae, a publication
list (with publications relevant to the project highlighted),
a short abstract and a proposal of the
proposed project (5 pages max.). We strongly encourage
applications from life scientists.
Joint proposals from two or more scientists who
plan to pursue an interdisciplinary collaborative
project in Greifswald are welcome. Applicants for
a Senior Fellowship are encouraged
to consider
the combination of a sabbatical term, granted by
their home institution, together with a six-monthfellowship
from the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg.
It is expected that applications show how the
planned project strengthens the research foci of
the University of Greifswald and promotes science
and research at the academic location of Greifswald.
Applications for the academic year 2024/25 will be
accepted until August 31, 2023 and should be addressed
to the academic director Professor Dr. Ulla
Bonas. Please use the application form. Guidelines
for the Fellowship program and a reference to the
data processing can be downloaded from
www.wiko-greifswald.de.
