University Professor – salary grade W3
for the chair of "Technical Immunology".
This professorship is an innovation professorship, an instrument that was created by the Executive Board and faculties as part of the University's strategic planning and that is used to quickly and flexibly develop and expand promising fields.

Working field: The appointee of this newly established "Innovation-Professorship" will represent the area of immunology in teaching and research. The focus in research lies on all aspects of modern immunology, especially tumor immunology in human cells and in in vitro technologies. Within the institute the professorship will be closely linked to the "Medical biotechnology". Multi-Organ-Chips may be further developed, lymphoid organs other than the established bone marrow could be included into this platform. The Technische Universität aims to define a new field in immunology with this term, an animal facility is not available.
The head of this new unit will have a central position within a common research building together with the Charité (Der simulierte Mensch).
Candidates should be able to teach in German and English. Supervision of Bachelor- and Master students, as well as internal and external PhD students is an essential part of the education program.
Requirements: Candidates should fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a finished academic education in Biotechnology or a natural science discipline, qualified achievements in research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification (e.g., documented by quality of scientific papers) and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242).
We are looking for an individual with extraordinary skills in the field of human immunology. The knowledge should apply in the field of technology itself, but also in the field of current clinical applications. It is expected that the holder of the position is proficient in molecular biology and immunological methods. – Long-time laboratory experiences, the initiation of new research networks, and contributions to current and future joint research projects at the Institute for Biotechnology are expected.
