The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Management in Agribusiness
at the Institute of Farm Management to be filled in the summer semester 2021.
The successful candidate will represent the subject Management in Agribusiness in teaching. He / She will hold courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programs of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in German and English and contribute to courses in the other two faculties at the University of Hohenheim.
In research, the professor will focus on designing, analyzing, applying, and conducting impact analyses of modern management concepts in the area of agriculture and its upstream and downstream value chain networks. Particular emphasis should be placed on coordinating and optimizing sector-specific value chains and agricultural marketing.
In this work, the successful candidate will cooperate with other professorships in the fields of agricultural markets, agricultural and food policy, marketing, and micro and macro modeling at the University of Hohenheim and will be actively involved in the development of a common focus in this area.
Knowledge of the theoretical basics of management in agribusiness and its analysis are required. With regard to the relevant methodological credentials, the applicant should be confident in the use of empirical social and economic research methods. In light of the University of Hohenheim's priority research areas, a concentration on the management of companies and value creation networks in the bioeconomy would be desirable.
The position offers attractive conditions for first-time W3 full professor appointees. Excellent scientists with proven methodological qualifications and a close connection to agricultural management and its value chain networks are invited to apply. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.
The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of Hohenheim reserves its right to probationary employment. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with disabilities.
