The Department of Chemistry is seeking to fill the following position
W1-Junior Professorship (f/m/d) in Sustainable Materials Chemistry with Tenure Track (W 2)
The employment is initially for three years in the civil service relationship. After a positive interim evaluation, the employment relationship will be extended by a further three years; after a successful final evaluation, the assumption of a lifetime professorship is promised.
The position holder is expected to strengthen and contribute to activities in the field of sustainable chemistry through a preparative, spectroscopic or theoretical focus of work. Proven research achievements in the field of "hydrogen chemistry" are desired, for example with respect to its production, storage, transport or chemical utilization of hydrogen. The Department of Chemistry is currently defining a long-term research strategy in the field. Applicants are expected to participate in planned joint research projects in the area of "sustainability" or "hydrogen chemistry" and in the Center for Sustainable Systems Design (CSSD), which is currently being established. Teaching duties will be mainly in the fields of materials science and active participation in the Material Science courses of study is expected. Successful acquisition of third-party funding is required. In addition to the usual application documents (curriculum vitae, copies of academic certificates, list of publications, list of courses, teaching concept, acquired funding), previous research successes and future projects should be described. A one-page statement on how the scientific projects will be integrated into the scientific strategy of the department in the fields of "sustainability" and "hydrogen chemistry" and which collaborations are possible should be submitted as well.
The candidate has reached a completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude and outstanding Ph.D. degree in the last 5 years and ideally has published research in international journals. Additional § 37 Abs. 2 HG NRW (University Law of the State of NRW).
