The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Göttingen invites applications for a temporary professorship with civil servant status (grade W2 NBesO) with tenure track (grade W3 NBesO) at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development effective at the earliest possible date:

W2 Professorship with tenure track to W3 in Farm Management in the Digital Transformation (f/m/d)

The successful candidate will initially be appointed for a period of five years. Transfer to a permanent professorship (W3) shall take place after a positive evaluation without the position being readvertised.

We are seeking an outstanding researcher who is committed to internationally visible and excellent research on the diverse transformation processes of agricultural and food systems. A research focus on farm management is expected, ideally with an emphasis on digital transformation.

The future establishment of this research focus at the University of Göttingen is expected, as are intra-faculty and cross-location collaborations within the framework of DFG collaborative research projects or comparable formats. Scientific collaboration within existing university institutions, such as the Campus Center of Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use (CBL) and the Campus-Institute Data Science (CIDAS), is explicitly encouraged.

A publication record in leading academic journals appropriate to the career stage, as well as experience in acquiring external research funding, managing research projects, and appropriate teaching experience, are expected.

The professorship will contribute to teaching in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Agricultural Sciences, the Master’s programme in Equine Sciences, the PhD programme of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, and possibly in the MBA Agribusiness programme. The successful candidate should be able to teach in both German and English (potentially after an initial adjustment period). The University of Göttingen is committed to research-oriented teaching.
