About us:
The Cluster of Excellence ‘Cross-Cultural Philology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) uses a cross-cultural approach to examine philological practices and cultural dynamics over a period of five millennia. It will bring to light the richness of philological traditions in their mutual interaction in the Near and Middle East, in East Asia, on the Indian subcontinent, in North, East and West Africa, and in Europe. This comparison will reveal specific similarities and differences, and continuities and discontinuities, yielding insights far beyond the current state of the art.Your tasks and responsibilities:
- To actively shape the cluster’s science communication, to convey research results in a target-group-oriented manner, and to contribute to the cluster’s public visibility.
- To further develop publication and communication strategies, to implement knowledge transfer measures within the cluster structures, and to promote dialogue with the broader public.
- To maintain relevant research data, to identify key trends, and to position the Cluster in collaboration with partner institutions from science, industry, and culture.
- To develop formats and cooperation projects to qualify early career researchers for non-academic career paths and support networking with external actors (e.g., museums, libraries, companies).
- To contribute your perspective to strategic processes (as an advisory member of the Executive Board) and to coordinate, together with the Cluster Office, measures for external representation and network maintenance.ting into everyday research life and assist with administrative processes in the Cluster Office, to which you belong.
Your qualifications:
- A completed university degree (Master’s, Diplom, teaching qualification), ideally with a doctoral degree, and preferably bring experience in science communication and management of scientific projects. Additionally, you have organizational experience, ideally in an academic/university context.
- Experience in managing and administering scientific projects, especially with scientific publications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team are highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, in a structured and responsible manner.
- A willingness to collaborate interdisciplinarily.
- Fluent German and/or English language skills.

We are offering a manager position, limited until 31.05.2029, with a pay scale of TV-L E13 (100%) and with the option to extend until the end of the first funding period.LMU offers the following opportunities for all employees:
