available immediately.
The position will be filled on a salaried basis and is made available for a period of six years according to section 50 subsection 2 sentence 1 no. 5 of the Baden-Württemberg state law covering higher education and specifically the promotion of highly gifted junior researchers.
The professorship focuses on cellular therapies in the field of hematology and immunology. A prerequisite for a successful application is an excellent scientific background, proven by basic scientific work and documented preclinical development of hematological immunological cellular therapies, in particular cell-based gene or RNA therapies. Relevant publications as well as the ability to acquire peer-reviewed third-party funding are expected.
The successful candidate will support ongoing research initiatives in Tübingen on the topic of cellular therapies and develop a research program that promotes clinical translation at the Tübingen Center for Stem Cell Transplantation and Hematological Cell Therapy for Children and Adults. The development and design of cooperative translational research projects are objectives of this professorship and will receive active support by the clinic. Moreover, active participation in the Center for Gene and RNA Therapies (GRTC) and the iFIT Cluster of Excellence is intended, in the context of which the professorship is intended to strengthen the further development of cell-based gene and RNA therapies.
Committed and active participation in teaching in the degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine, particularly with regard to innovative curricula and modern teaching formats, is expected; ideally, this will be complemented by highly evaluated teaching experience. Participation in particular in the degree programs for Molecular Medicine, Medical Technology and Medicine is expected. The teaching commitment is nine semester hours per week (SWS).
Requirements for employment are a doctorate as well as postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience equivalent to the requirements of a full professorship. It is possible to take on tasks in patient care provided the successful candidate has a license to practice medicine.
The University of Tübingen is committed to equity and diversity and actively promotes equal opportunities. Female academics, in particular, are explicitly invited to apply, as are applicants from outside Germany.
Applications from equally qualified candidates with disabilities will be given preference.
Please note that employees of the University Hospital must provide proof of immunity in accordance with the IfSG before starting employment (currently: measles).
