To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in the DFG-funded research project “Timing Difficulties in Developmental Language Disorder and Stuttering: The Role of Altered Brain-Rhythm Synchronization” – ideally with you on board!
In the DFG-funded research project, you will use magnetoencephalography and advanced frequency-domain analyses to improve diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of stuttering and developmental language disorders. You assess and compare language comprehension, rhythmic skills and the underlying brain signals of adolescents who stutter, adolescents with language development disorders and control subjects.
The project is a collaboration between the University Hospital Münster, the CoBIC Frankfurt/Main, the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data collection using magnetoencephalography (MEG) and behavioral tests
- Data analysis using Matlab or Python (speech-brain interactions, synchronicity measurements, connectivity measurements between sources)
- Presentation and publication of results at leading international conferences
REQUIREMENTS:
- Successfully completed university studies (master's degree) in neuroscience, linguistics or cognitive sciences, or comparable subjects such as psychology
- Good programming skills in Matlab or Python
- Relevant experience in the analysis of M/EEG data
- Good communicative and interactional competence as well as empathy
- Interest in scientific work in an interdisciplinary team at the junction of medicine, psychology and linguistics
- Very good written and spoken German skills (at least C1 GER)
