The department's research priorities are based on three key areas: a) reactivity, catalysis, and sustainability; b) spectroscopy, magnetism, and materials; and c) life sciences and bioanalytics, whereas the focus of this professorship should be on reactivity, catalysis, and sustainability. We therefore expect suitable candidates to have a research focus in a future-oriented area of preparative inorganic chemistry. A clear application focus, for example, in fields such as sustainable chemistry, resource efficiency, or energy conversion — ideally incorporating artificial intelligence or machine learning methods — is important for the department. Applicants are expected to have experience in collaborating with other research groups in chemistry as well as to have a proven record of acquisition of third-party funding. We require a willingness to collaborate with other research groups at the Department of Chemistry and other departments of RPTU. A participation in the research unit NanoKat is conceivable. The professional duties also include active participation in the academic self-administration of the Department. Experience in academic boards and committees are desirable.
