for Artificial Intelligence in Information Systems
We are looking for an individual who is an outstanding scholar in Information Systems, with a strong academic record, and whose research focuses on the integration, design, and analysis of Artificial Intelligence in information systems within organizational contexts. Applicants should have proven experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Integration of AI into information systems
- Organizational integration of AI-based systems
- Human-AI interaction
- AI-based process design and analysis
- Strategic use of data and AI in organizations
Relevant research activities include, for example, the analysis of the use of generative AI in organizations, the design of AI‑based systems with an emphasis on user acceptance, the transformation toward data‑driven and AI‑enabled organizations, and the derivation of design principles for AI‑based information systems.
Candidates must have relevant experience in university teaching. Participation is expected in both German- and English-language Bachelor's and Master's programs in the Department of Computer Science. Additionally, involvement in the development of the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Information Systems is required. Active participation in academic self-governance is expected.
Proven experience in acquiring and managing externally funded research projects is also required. The professorship is expected to contribute actively to the university’s research environment, particularly through participation in the research center "Human-Cyber-Physical Systems: Safety, Acceptance, Social and Cultural Embeddedness." Participation in academic self-governance is expected. Since the Universities of Oldenburg and Bremen are linked through a cooperation agreement, active involvement in this cooperation is expected.
There are excellent networking opportunities at the University of Oldenburg for both basic and applied research. In addition, the affiliated institute OFFIS and the Oldenburg-based DLR institutes offer outstanding opportunities for application-oriented research collaborations. Experience in academic self‑governance is desirable. An established international research network is also desirable.
Prerequisites for employment are specified in section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG).
