With its integration into the Test Center for Support Structures Hannover (TTH), the professorship has excellent experimental equipment at its disposal, which opens up a wide range of opportunities for cooperation in basic and applied research.
In addition, LUH provides numerous opportunities for further education and training as well as many services to support families. The Dual Career Service at LUH is aimed at the partners of newly-appointed professors and provides support with career perspectives in Hannover and the surrounding region. University Professorship in Structural Analysis and Dynamics
The Position
The position is a core professorship in the research and teaching area of civil engineering at Leibniz University Hannover. Applicants are expected to represent the research field of structural analysis and dynamics in an internationally visible manner. The focus of basic and applied research should be on structural engineering. In particular, both theoretical and experimental work is expected on the design and operational monitoring of support structures and ensuring their use throughout their service life. Possible further research focuses are:- Digital description of load-bearing structures using computer-aided methods, including the development of real-time simulation models and the development and use of AI tools,
- calculation methods, experimental validation and optimization of complex new building materials, e.g. fiber composites and
- structural health monitoring.

Your Profile
We expect:- An internationally recognized scientist with extensive experience in basic research.
- Excellent achievements in research and development in the field of structural analysis & dynamics of structures, proven by relevant publications / patents or visible project reports and project successes as well as the successful acquisition of third-party funding or comparable achievements.
- Your proven focus in one or more of the areas of structural dynamics / wind energy / fiber composites / structural health monitoring / experimental investigation of the dynamics of complex structures.
- Experience in leading heterogeneous teams, professional experience in an international context and proven industrial or transfer-related projects.
- Designing appealing and innovative teaching in English, also for the participation in our international programs.
- Experience in experimental research.
- Your active willingness to develop joint activities within the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy and also university-wide, e.g. in cooperation with the Faculties of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering through high-quality collaborative research and beyond in national and international alliances.
- A highly motivated person, who is very willing to cooperate with the institutes of the faculty.
- Management responsibility and the will to shape the future development of an institute with 50-60 academic staff.
- If no relevant knowledge is available, learning German to B1 level within the first three years.
