University professor for Electric Bass in popular music
to be filled according to § 98 UG.
Extent of employment: full-time
Contract: permanent employment according to the collective agreement
Minimum wage: Gross salary, according to collective bargaining agreement, € 6.604,30 per month (14 times). There is a possibility of a higher salary according to qualifications and former position.
Employment requirements:
- A completed domestic or equivalent foreign university education corresponding to the job or an equivalent artistic and didactic aptitude
- A distinguished artistic qualification for the vacant position
- Active international concert experience
- Experience in teaching and didactics in education and professional development
Desired qualifications:
- Distinct artistic profile
- A record of excellent artistic activity, whose repertoire shows openness to stylistic diversity (Rock, Pop, Metal, Funk, Blues, Jazz etc.) as well as mastery of the relevant genre-specific playing techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge in the areas of studio work, recording, composition, and arrangement, as well as in-depth understanding of the instrument and related equipment
- Leadership skills in organizational matters, as well as the willingness and ability to work as part of a team
- High-level proficiency in both German and English (subsequent learning of the German language is expected)
- Awareness and competence in matters of gender and diversity
The required teaching and didactic aptitude will be assessed through a teaching demonstration.
Tasks:
- Representation of the subject electric bass in popular music in the development and exploration of the arts and in teaching
- Teaching in the central artistic subject electric bass
- Teaching and examination duties, as well as supervision of students in major and minor subjects, instrumental didactics, teaching practice, and ensembles across all relevant study programs didactics of the instrument, teaching practice and ensembles in all intended fields of study
- Leading and preparing ensembles for live presentations and studio recording
- Participation in organizational, administrative and evaluation tasks as well as in the development and implementation of artistic and educational projects
