Your place of work:

The Faculty of Psychology at the University of Vienna comprises the Dean's Office, a Student Service Center, four institutes, and the Outpatient Unit for Research, Teaching and Practice. 
Your future position is based with the new Professorship of Psychotherapy and Psychotherapy Research (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Probst) at the Institute for Clinical and Health Psychology. 

The research group investigates Processes and Effectiveness of Psychotherapy and Therapeutic Interventions. Other key research areas of the professorship include: 

• Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
• Digitalization, e.g., AI, in Psychotherapy
• The Use of Psychological and Neuroscientific Methods in Psychotherapy Research 

The working group actively promotes open and reproducible science (e.g., through pre-registration and the sharing of materials and data) and values diverse perspectives.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
• You participate in research projects / scientific studies / publications.
• You submit project proposals and secure external funding.
• Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective bargaining agreement.
• You supervise students.
• You are involved in the organization of meetings, conferences, and symposia.

This is part of your personality:

• Master's Degree or diploma in psychology or other related fields. 
• Experience conducting studies on the intersection of psychotherapy and neuroscience. 
• Interest in cross-cluster research questions.
• Postgraduate psychotherapy training or continuing education (in progress or completed). 
• In-depth knowledge of psychophysiological methods.
• Excellent knowledge of programming and data analysis software (R, Python, MATLAB).
• Ability to present and address research questions in a structured manner.
• Ability to work as part of a team. 
• High level of commitment and initiative.
• Very good command of written and spoken English and German (C1). 

Desirable qualifications are:

• Initial experience publishing scholarly articles in journals with an impact factor, particularly as the first author.
• Initial experience as a tutor and/or teaching assistant in the field of psychotherapy.
• Study abroad experience during your degree program.

The basic salary of EUR 3.776,10 (on a full-time basis, 14 x yearly) increases if we can credit professional experience.

The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
