University assistant predoctoral

Your personal sphere of influence:

As a university assistant prae doc, you will be part of the research team around Prof. Meissel.

Our Team Meissel currently consists of 1/2 post doc, 2 prae docs, student assistents and administrative colleagues.

What is particularly important to us is to strive for top quality scholarship and passionate teaching.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of Roman Law, Private Law, Historical Comparative Law, Contemporary History.
• We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
• You work on your dissertation and its completion.
• You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
• You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
• Lecturing activities

This is part of your personality:

• Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field Law/Legal Studies
• Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods
• Didactic competences / experience with e-learning
• Excellent command of written and spoken foreign Languages (English, French, Latin)
• IT user skills
• Desireable knowledge is History of European Private Law and Private Law
• You should be a team player with high social skills

Duration of contract: The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
