We offer a diverse working environment with room for your own ideas and foster a culture of mutual respect and appreciation.

The position is initially limited to one year. A permanent may be offered subsequently.

Your personal sphere of influence:

In this position, you will manage our laboratory for electroencephalography (EEG) measurements and support the team in conducting experimental studies. In addition, you will work on the maintenance and further development of the group's internal IT infrastructure. This includes managing the hardware and software in use and assisting employees with IT-related issues.

Your future tasks:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software equipment, particularly PC workstations, printers, and other IT components

  • First-level support for the research group’s staff

  • Network administration

  • Website management for the research group in collaboration with our administrative assistant

  • Contribution to managing the shared IT infrastructure of the Department of Computer Science, such as Linux servers (e.g., file servers or CI/CD servers), as well as the internal video conferencing infrastructure

Your profile:

  • Completion of a general or vocational secondary school

  • Professional experience in system administration, support, development, management

  • Professional experience in the technical support of an EEG laboratory (or willingness to familiarize yourself with this subject area)

  • Excellent written and spoken German and English

  • Excellent knowledge of Linux, Windows, and macOS

  • Good programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and Java

  • A structured, goal-oriented, and independent work style

  • Ability to work in a team and, ideally, experience in working with research groups

  • Good knowledge of web programming

  • Knowledge of the design and construction of electronic circuits is an advantage

We are looking for a new team member who shares our values of openness, transparency, clear communication, and mutual respect, and who will contribute to a successful collaboration.

What we offer:

Work-life balance: Flexible working hours and – as far as the job allows it – the option to work remotely.

Inspiring working environment: A small, diverse, and dedicated team in a university research setting with a relaxed and supportive working atmosphere.

Space for creativity: Management of the EEG lab, the experimental measurement and study infrastructure, and the group’s internal IT systems. Opportunity to contribute your own ideas and technical solutions to further develop these areas in collaboration with the team.

Collaborative teamwork: Friendly and respectful interaction within an interdisciplinary team, as well as regular networking with technicians from other research groups.

Good public transport connections: Your workplace is easily accessible by public transport.

Internal further training: A comprehensive and free range of professional development opportunities to deepen your skills.

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3,131.30 (employment group IIIb) on a full-time basis (14 times a year) increases if we can credit your professional experience.
