Senior Scientist

Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position will be in the Security & Privacy research group at the Faculty of Computer Science. Researchers appreciate the internationality, the outstanding research projects, the interdisciplinary cooperation and the collegial exchange in our faculty.

Our current research focuses on Software Protection, Machine Learning/AI und Security und Security and Privacy of Decentralized Systems and Distributed Ledger Technologies. In the long term, we focus on understanding complex systems in order to recognise fundamental security and privacy problems and on researching and developing solutions that go beyond mere short-term problem solving.

Our team currently consists of 20 scientific and 2 administrative colleagues. We attach particular importance to relaxed and respectful cooperation, a collegial atmosphere and an independent way of working. Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• You build an independent research profile in the areas of hybrid AI for cybersecurity and security and privacy of agentic systems. 
• You publish internationally and give lectures.
• You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
• You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
• You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
• You supervise your students in courses on technical and organizational security aspects..
• You are involved in the organization of meetings, conferences and symposia.
• You are involved in evaluation measures and quality assurance.

This is part of your personality:

Must-haves:

• Doctorate with a focus on information security
• Research focus on semantic technologies and automation for cybersecurity, including proven research activities in this field
• Publications in the leading jounals in the field of information security
• Experience in aquiring third-party funding
• Experience in managing large research projects
• Very good programming skills
• Leadership qualities in the supervion of students
• Experience in teaching computer science at Bachelor's and Master's level
• Very good German and English languange skills
• Strong ability to work in teams
• Perseverance and assertiveness

Desireable skills:

• Experience with international and interdisciplinary research projects
• Knowledge of university processes and structures
