The following professorship is to be filled in the department building-art-materials at the location Höhr-Grenzhausen as soon as possible:

Professor (f/m/d)
Thermal Process Engineering and Building Ceramics

(Base Salary: W 2)

Part-time employment is possible.

Your tasks:
  • Teaching (in German and English) in the subject areas energy engineering, physical and thermal measurement methods, and building ceramics, including future energy concepts and all courses of study in the Department of building-art-materials
  • Establishment of a research profile as well as national and international research activities incl. publications
  • Networking with regional stakeholders (companies, associations, etc.)
  • Participation in academic self-administration
Your profile:
  • Professional expertise in the teaching area thermal process engineering, ideally with expertise in inorganic non-metallic materials, building and architectural ceramics, physical and thermal measurement methods, as well as the application of current and emerging firing technologies
  • Several years of relevant professional experience, ideally leadership experience
  • Openness for the further development and implementation of innovative teaching concepts
  • High social competence in dealing with students, colleagues and employees
  • Fluent in German (minimum C2-level) and in English (minimum C1-level)
The hiring requirements for professorships result from § 49 of the Higher Education Act of Rhineland-Palatinate (HochSchG).
