Post-Doctoral Position in Computer Science (Fulltime, E 13TV-L)

The position is available immediately. The start date is no later than June 1st, 2026. The position is initially available for up to two years with the possibility of extension. Exceptional PhD candidates may also be considered if they are at an advanced stage of their doctoral studies.

The Chair for Software and Systems Engineering conducts active research in the development of methods and tools for the design of complex software systems, with a current focus on formal and algorithmic methods for machine learning.

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the goals of the research project “SCADNet"
Research contributions in at least two of the areas formal verification, formal guarantees for Deep Neural Networks, models of causality, automated repair of real-time systems, system safety, and formal techniques in legal tech
Some support of the teaching activities and the administrative duties of the Chair

Your Competencies

We require candidates to possess an excellent graduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Further requirements include:

A background in formal and algorithmic system modeling and analysis and in the foundations of Machine Learning
An initial international research record in at least one of the mentioned areas that this position is responsible for
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. These need to be proven in the application
