The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking, as soon as possible, with a 3-year fixed-term contract and the possibility of extension, a
PhD (f/m/d) in Psychometrics and Quality of Life Quantification
In ophthalmology, patient report is essential when assessing visual function and functional loss as well as its impact on day to day life. Existing instruments to obejctively quanitfy this exist but need to be better evaluated and improved.
Your tasks:
- Implemeting modern test theory, i.e. item response theory, models to assess psychometric performance of existing tools
- (Co-) development of solutions for better measurement, i.e. more precise and/or better tailored to patient experience
- Close cooperation with ophthalmology researchers / physicians
- Regular reporting, data curation, data analysis an quality management
- Preparation of scientific publications and validation, collaboration on third-party funding applications
Your skills:
- Completed degree (diploma, master's) in psychology, sociology or comparable training
- Knowledge of test theory, psychometrics and the respective software implementations
- In-depth knowledge of scientific operations, including data collection, data management, and statistical analysis methods
- Very good written and spoken German and English language skills
- Dynamic, highly organized and creative personality, Proactive and independent work manner
