As part of the DFG Research Training Group iMOL (GRK 2566) at Goethe University Frankfurt, we are looking for creative and highly motivated candidates. iMOL connects advanced imaging with molecular life sciences. The doctoral program trains outstanding young researchers in cutting-edge microscopy and AI-driven image analysis, enabling them to investigate the principles of life across different spatial and temporal scales.

initially, the position is limited to a fixed term of three years. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U). This position is also available on a part-time basis.
Your responsibilities
- Preparation of medical and biological samples
- Preparation and application of next-generation microscopy techniques
- Computer-assisted acquisition and analysis of multidimensional imaging data
- Visualization of biological and medical samples
- Presentation and publication of research findings
Your profile
You hold a completed university degree (Master’s, Diploma, or State Examination) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physics, Molecular Biology, Medicine, Computer Science or a related field and have a strong interest in microscopy.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:
- Working with cells and organisms
- Light and electron microscopy
- Image processing, computer-assisted image analysis, and data evaluation
We are looking for technical aptitude, an independent and careful approach to work, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration. Good English language skills are an advantage due to our international research environment.
