Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of Battery Research
The position is part of third-party funded project: "SiMba – Simulation, Microstructure Analysis, and Optimization of Solid-State Batteries- of the Junior Research Group of Dr. Anja Bielefeld at the Center for Materials Research. The position is to be filled for three years. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).
The SiMba project aims to bring solid-state batteries closer to practical applications by advancing the understanding of the underlying electro-chemo-mechanical processes and optimizing their performance. In this context, you investigate structured lithium anodes or porous reservoirs for lithium plating through microstructure-resolved electro-chemo-mechanical simulations using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Therein, the cell breathing is studied as well as mechanical stresses that arise upon cycling and aging. The underlying microstructure models are created digitally.
