WHAT TO EXPECT

At MSA, you will teach the fundamentals and advanced aspects of building physics as part of the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, with a particular focus on sustainable architecture.

You will be able to utilise your expertise, particularly in the practical transfer of knowledge relating to room acoustics, thermal insulation, moisture insulation and sound insulation.

Your application-oriented research focuses on simulation-based approaches in building physics and their contribution to climate protection, resilience and energy efficiency in the building sector.

In addition, by delivering courses in English, you will contribute significantly to the university’s internationalisation strategy.

Last but not least, you will support us in academic self-governance, and be involved in professional development and continuing education.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Your expertise is founded upon a degree in building physics, civil engineering or architecture.

A relevant doctorate is desirable. The requirements for recruitment under Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (HSG NRW) apply.

Thanks to your background as a self-employed building physicist or a senior member of a firm, you have a proven track record of delivering complex architectural projects.

You also have experience in developing sustainable solutions that combine thermal and sound insulation with room acoustics, taking technical trends and innovations into account.

You are also experienced in applying and optimising digital planning methods, particularly in the context of building physics simulations, thermal building simulations and component and room acoustics simulations.

Your profile is rounded off by your ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly, getting students excited about the building physics of sustainable architecture.
