The following professorship is to be filled in the department of Engineering at the location Koblenz as soon as possible:

Professor (f/m/d)
Applied Computer Science and IT Security

(Base Salary: W 2)

Part-time employment is possible.

Your tasks:

• Teaching (in German and English) in the fields of applied computer science and IT security. This includes courses on applied IT security and its fundamentals, the fundamentals of computer science, and related topics, aligned with the requirements of the degree programmes offered by the Department.
• Establishment of a research profile as well as national and international research activities incl. publications
• Networking with regional stakeholders (companies, associations, etc.)
• Participation in academic self-administration

Your profile:

• Professional expertise and practical experience in applied IT security. Applicants are expected to have knowledge in several of the following areas: secure networks and systems, cryptography, secure software development, identity and access management, cloud and IoT security, security management, and the detection and handling of security incidents.
• Several years of relevant professional experience, ideally leadership experience
• Openness for the further development and implementation of innovative teaching concepts
• High social competence in dealing with students, colleagues and employees
• Fluent in German (minimum C2-level) and in English (minimum C1-level)

The hiring requirements for professorships result from § 49 of the Higher Education Act of Rhineland-Palatinate (HochSchG).
