The Faculty of Natural Sciences invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Food Chemistry
at the Institute of Food Chemistry to be filled in the winter semester 2027/2028.
Applicants should have a research focus on current food-chemical and analytical aspects of food ingredients and contaminants in the context of food quality and safety. The professor should place an emphasis on the development and application of modern instrumental methods in food analysis, including data processing and interpretation. The professorship is to strengthen the Institute’s current specializations and expand these with innovative research topics.
The applicant is expected to be willing to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation with scientists of the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart, in particular with the faculty’s institutes of food science and nutritional science.
In teaching, the professorship is to make significant contributions to the subject of Food Chemistry in the joint Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart as well as in other subject-related degree programs. Teaching is to be done in both German and English.
The successful candidate will have internationally visible research, credentials with relevant publications in high-ranking, and the ability to raise third-party funds.
The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are a habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification) or an equivalent research and teaching record.
