We are looking for a dedicated individual to represent mathematics in our engineering degree programs. You have a qualified education in mathematics and have relevant professional experience in the application of mathematical methods in engineering.
Your tasks
- Technical representation of mathematics in the engineering sciences
- Development and implementation of courses (lectures, exercises) in our practice-oriented engineering bachelor's and master's degree programs
- Participation in and organization of additional mathematical courses (preliminary courses, math workshop)
- Teaching in German and English
- Supervision of final theses and project work
- Collaboration in research projects, support of research activities
- Cooperation with industry partners, as well as the acquisition of third-party funds
- Active participation in academic self-administration
Your profile
- Successfully completed university studies, as well as a doctorate preferably related to the above-mentioned subject areas, preferably a degree in mathematics
- Extensive knowledge and experience in either modeling, simulation and programming or statistics and data science
- Professional experience in mechanical engineering or process engineering is an advantage
- Relevant professional experience in engineering (at least 5 years, at least 3 years of which outside university)
- Pedagogical aptitude, proven by teaching experience and/or further didactic training
- Commitment, intrinsic motivation and enjoyment of teaching, ability to work in a team
- Commitment to be present on the campus (at least 3 days per week)
- Enjoyment of being active in practice-oriented research

The position is available for an unlimited period of time. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially on a probationary civil service basis or on a permanent employment basis with a three-year probationary period.
