Postdoctoral Researcher Armed Conflict and Climate Change Impacts
(full-time, E 13 TV-L)
Reference no.: 2024/058. The position is available from June 1st or by agreement and is limited until September 30th 2026. An extension may be possible with additional funding. The position can be divided into two part-time positions.

The University of Konstanz seeks to fill the position as postdoctoral researcher in the working group of incoming Professor of International Politics Nina von Uexkull,
Department of Politics and Public Administration. The co-funded position is linked to the interdisciplinary international Societies at Risk research consortium investigating armed conflict impacts on human development. The successful candidate for the position will engage in pioneering interdisciplinary research on conflict as a driver of vulnerability to climate change with the project team using quantitative methods. The candidate will in addition be encouraged to further develop their own research agenda related to interrelations between climate change, climate change policies and conflict broadly defined. The candidate is expected to teach up to 4 SWS.

Your Qualifications
- PhD degree in relevant fields (social sciences, computer sciences, natural sciences) or completion by June 2024
- Strong skills in statistical methods
- Ability to work constructively and effectively as part of a research team
- Excellent English writing and oral communication skills
- High degree of independence and willingness to learn
- Enthusiasm for conducting high-quality academic research
