University Professorship - salary grade W3

for the chair of "Control Engineering".

Working field: The research profile should be in the field of modeling, model-based and data-based system analysis, robust and optimization-based control and supervision of processes. In the framework of experimental and theoretical research activities special emphasis should be directed towards applications in process engineering, e.g., chemical, biochemical, energy or food engineering science. Additional areas of application, such as control of processes for conversion of renewable ressources or combustion and flow control are desired.
In teaching, control courses must be provided for undergraduate and master students of several degree programmes. Applicants must be able to conduct their lectures in English and, after a learning period, as well in German.
Requirements: Candidates should fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act) [information sheet available by request], including a finished academic education, qualified achievements in research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification (e.g., documented by quality of scientific papers) and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242). Experience in teaching and research including human resource management in the area of closed-loop control and metrology as well as in acquisition and managing of projects in a responsible position is expected. Experience in the work in interdisciplinary teams as well as international experience is desired.
