The Faculty of Energy and Economic Sciences of TU Clausthal (TUC), Germany, is appointing the position of a

University Professor (W3):
Electrical Engineering and
Electrical Power-Systems Engineering

at the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering and Energy Systems.
The candidate should have outstanding educational and scientific qualifications with in-depth knowledge in the following topics:
  • Energy grids including ancillary services
  • Power electronics for energy grids
In addition, the candidate needs to be qualified by profes­sional experience in at least one of the following topics:
  • Regenerative energy generation
  • Electrical power drives for energy systems
  • Energy management of accumulator systems (mobile and stationary)
The candidate contributes actively to the research topics at TU Clausthal of ’Sustainable Energy Systems’, ’Raw Materials Supply and Resource Efficiency’ as well as ’Open Cyber- Physical Systems and Simulation’. The professorship also involves close cooperation with the EnergieForschungsZen­trum and the CUTEC Institute at TU Clausthal. Collaboration with neighboring departments at TU Clausthal as well as with partners in Germany and abroad is expected.
Experience in the successful acquisition of third-party funded projects is welcome.
Teaching includes the lecturing of fundamental Electrical Engineering as well as lectures on advanced methods of Electrical Power Systems in German and English for various BSc and MSc courses at TU Clausthal.
The candidate should have an outstanding doctorate, as well as a habilitation or equivalent in addition to a university degree in engineering or natural sciences. Practical industry experience as well as a confirmation of special didactic competences and appropriate abilities is also favorable.
Conditions of appointment are according to § 25 of Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschul­gesetz NHG). TU Clausthal wishes to increase the number of its female faculty. Applications from female candidates are particularly welcome. Candidates with disabilities who are equally qualified will be given preference. Applications of scientists from abroad are very welcome but fluent German is mandatory for teaching undergraduate classes.
A part-time appointment may be possible on request.
Applicants who are 50 years or older at the time the appointment commences and who have not acquired permanent civil servant status (Beamtenverhältnis auf Lebenszeit) will be employed with employee status (Angestelltenverhältnis).
