Tenure Track Assistant Professor

»Health and Prevention«
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Sport and Health Sciences. The candidate is expected to integrate into the research program of the Department of Sport and Health Sciences and to work in close collaboration with other TUM departments. Depending on the research focus, establishing cooperation with the TUM School of Medicine in relation to physical and psychological health, with the TUM School of Governance in relation to public health policy-making, or with the TUM School of Life Sciences Weihenstephan in relation to human nutrition for healthy and physically active lifestyles is expected.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of health and prevention with a focus on lifestyle-related factors and physical activity across the lifespan of individuals from a health, social, or nutritional sciences perspective. The teaching load includes courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs explicitly in the newly established bachelor and master programs Health Science and Sport Science. The teaching portfolio should cover interdisciplinary aspects of prevention and health (considering the biopsychosocial model) and apply innovative concepts in pedagogy and didactics.
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
Based on best international standards and transparent performance criteria, TUM offers a merit-based academic career option for tenure track faculty from Assistant Professor through a permanent position as Associate Professor, and on to Full Professor.
