The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering and is affiliated with the TUM Department of Architecture. There are cooperation opportunities with the professorship for Construction Process Management, the Centre of Sustainable Building, as well as with the TUM School of Management and the TUM School of Governance.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of economic aspects of real estate development; she/he is expected to focus on real estate development and management over the entire life cycle, paying attention to the interdisciplinary context of real estate economics, from market observation to strategic corporate governance. The digital transformation of the building sector has to be considered. In addition, we expect the candidate to research analytical aspects of the ‘best-user-principle‘ and develop innovative business models, such as new stakeholder approaches in the form of participatory urban transformation models. The teaching load includes courses in the university‘s German and English bachelor and master programs. Full commitment to do interdisciplinary research is mandatory.
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
