Sugar Beet Breeder (f/m)

We are seeking at the earliest opportunity a Sugar Beet Breeder (f/m) for a breeding and a support function in the SB breeding team on a permanent and full time basis. The position is located in the sugar beet breeding team of KWS in Einbeck, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Your tasks:
  • Responsible for a specific breeding program of SB
  • Regional product mangement by selection of varieties, adapted to the markets in the respective areas
  • Breeding related trials and optimization of methods of field trials
  • Coordination of QM activities for the SB breeding
  • Close collaboration with scientists within the R&D sugar beet group
  • Collaboration in an international team of researchers and breeders

Your profile:
  • University degree in Natural Sciences
  • Diploma, Master or PhD degree with the focus on plant breeding
  • Good knowledge of applied genetics, plant breeding and molecular markers
  • Experience in design and statistic evaluation of trials
  • Advanced computer application skills in MS Office and experience in the use of databases
  • Active participation in strategic discussions
  • Professional written and verbal English is mandatory, language skills in German are a plus
  • Team player and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to grow into a leadership position
  • Attendance for travelling
