Research scientist for phenotypic data analysis (m/f)

We are seeking to recruit at the earliest opportunity a Research scientist for phenotypic data analysis (m/f) on a permanent and full-time basis contract. The position is located at KWS SAAT SE in Einbeck, Germany.

Your tasks:
  • Maintain and extend a productive platform for multi-crop field trial analysis
  • Collect user requests and coordinate developments with internal and external developer teams
  • Optimize the usability of the system
  • Explore and integrate new statistical methods and tools for phenotypic data analysis taking additional data sources into account (e.g. environmental data, molecular markers)
  • Provide statistical support for routine- and special analyses in breeding (Focus: Field trial analysis)
  • Train breeders and researchers (worldwide) in using the platform and provide user manual
  • Member of statistical working groups

Your profile:
  • University degree in statistics, plant science/ breeding with focus on data management and statistics or similar qualification (PhD or MSc)
  • Experience in programming (e.g. R, Python)
  • Good SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge of experimental designs and phenotypic data analysis
  • Excellent team player and communication skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Attendance for travelling
