The University of Luxembourg invites applications for the following position within the Research Unit INSIDE at the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education (FLSHASE) for a:

Research Associate on project (m/f)

  • Fixed- term contract, 15 months, 100% (40 hrs/week); preferably as from 01.01.2017

The research associate will be part of the UL project focusing the evaluation of the „Outreach Youth Work - Maison des Jeunes“ program. The program (2015-2017) is carried out by the Entente des Gestionnaires des "Maisons des Jeunes" (EGMJ) together with 5 youth centers. The target group of the project is inactive young people (not in school and not in employment) in the age between 16 and 26 years. The aim of the project is to identify those youngsters and develop with them a professional perspective.

Your role:
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the project "Outreach Youth Work - Maisons des Jeunes" within the domain of youth research/INSIDE
  • Collect, assemble and evaluate research data
  • Analyse and interpret the results obtained
  • Drafting reports and presenting findings to the local practitioners and political stakeholders
Your profile:
  • Master diploma or MA in sociology, educational science, psychology or equivalent
  • Very good oral and written competences in German, Luxembourgish and French
  • Experience in/knowledge of evaluation research (youth research is a plus)
  • High skills in qualitative methods of empirical social research
  • Experience in data collection and computer-assisted qualitative data analysis
  • Good knowledge of the Luxembourgish context
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Willingness to engage in teamwork in research groups
