Professor (m/f) of Political Philosophy
(pay grade: W2 / W3)

This is a permanent civil service position in the "Bayreuth Track" scheme. The postholder may be promoted to the W3 level upon successful performance review of research and teaching in accordance with the Bayreuth Track Personnel Development Model for professors at the University of Bayreuth.
Applicants are expected to be internationally established scholars in either political philosophy or philosophy of public policy, and to have a background in the intersection of philosophy and economics. The successful applicant should complement the Department of Philosophy’s research activities. The postholder will play a key role in our decision-oriented BA and MA programmes in Philosophy & Economics. Effective teaching ability in the intersection of political philosophy and economics is crucial.
Requirements for this position (in accordance with Article 7 and Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG) are a university degree, a doctoral degree, proven excellence in teaching and a post-doctoral qualification to teach at a professorial level (Habilitation). Alternatively evidence of equivalent scholarly achievement, for example as a junior professor or in a non-university environment will also be considered. The ability to teach in English is expected. Only applicants who are 51 years of age or younger can be hired as civil servants (Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG).
