The Medical Faculty at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt
am Main, Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and
Pain Therapy (Director Prof. Dr. Dr. K. Zacharowski, FRCA) invites
applications for the following position:
Professor (W2)
The Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain
Therapy with over 100 members of clinical staff provides approximately
30.000 anaesthetics procedures per year in the University Hospital. All
aspects of anaesthesia including Emergency Medicine, Pain Therapy
and Intensive Care Medicine are covered in close collaboration with
surgical disciplines and diagnostic facilities.
The applicant is representing the field of Anaesthesia, Critical Care
Medicine & Emergency Medicine in the Hospital, Research & Teaching.
Clinical duties involve participation in the »on call« rota and having an
important position in the day-day work of the Department. The W2
Professorship comes along with adequate infrastructure regarding staff
posts and consumables.
Applicants must have obtained a doctoral degree and have received
specialist training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.
Furthermore, the applicant needs a track record of clinical leadership
in the areas of budget, personnel, quality management and care of
operative intensive care patients.
The applicant must be scientific group leader with a track record of
successful peer-review grants as well as PI in clinical trials phase II to
IV.
Prerequisites for the application are a university degree, a strong
teaching ability, a doctorate as well as a "Habilitation" (post-doctoral
lecturing qualification) or proven comparable scientific achievements
which may be obtained as a junior professor or outside the field of
higher education.
The Department is inviting applications from candidates with an
outstanding track record in research in the field of cardiovascular
medicine and a distinguished profile in innovative trials such as
ischemia-reperfusion and patient safety. The successful candidate will
be required to promote and facilitate clinical development and research,
as well as forging collaborative links with existing research activities.
Candidates should have the potential to obtain independent funding
for their research initiatives and are expected to contribute to the
student teaching program of the Medical Faculty.
The designated salary for the position will be based on "W2" of the
