Social services in structurally weak areas
Social Work is confronted with the demographic change, Emigration and Immigration and processes of areal polarization. It is expected that the job holder conveys materiel, institutional, processual and methodic answers in teaching and to develop them in research to these topics. He or she shall represent questions of demographic change, methods of research, socio-pedagogic contents and topics of gerontology in teaching.
Relevant knowledge and skills about the classic repertoire of Social Work especially problems of elderly people (Gerontology) and strategies in rural areas are required. It is expected that he or she participates actively in the curricular renovation and development of new forms of study (further education). The conception and realizing of propositions in research and the cooperation with different faculties of the university is expected as well. International experiences are welcomed. The applicants shall have a degree in socio-pedagogic, gerontology or social sciences and relevant experiences in practice and research. Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
