At the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (E + I) wishes to appoint, for the earliest possible start date, a:

Professor (m/f; W 3)

of Medical Technology with a focus on cardiology, electro-
physiology, cardiac implants and catheter ablation

Offenburg University is a member of the European University Association (EUA), a Europewide network of universities with particular strengths in research. We are offering the candidate the opportunity to contribute and further develop his or her own field of research, while also participating in applied research and development projects.
Requirements for the position include a research focus in the area of cardiology and catheter ablation, together with associated experience at recognised research institutions, and the ability to contribute to an adequate range of teaching and research activities in these areas. In this context, the candidate will be also be required to lead the Peter Osypka Institute for Pacing and Ablation (succeeding Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. B. Ismer). Additionally, intensive cooperation is expected with partners from the fields of both medicine and medical technology. Offenburg University offers excellent opportunities for such collaboration with the many clinical institutions in the local area.
The professorship requires expertise in teaching, applied research and professional development in the relevant field as well as involvement in fundamental training. The candi­date must  be  prepared  to take on teaching responsibilities in associated specialist
areas and academic administration duties for the university. Furthermore, an ability and willingness to provide teaching in English is expected.
