Professorship (W3)
IT Security

commencing at the earliest opportunity.
Successful candidates should have outstanding qualifications in at least one of the following areas of IT security:
  • Reactive security
  • Security in embedded, networked, or distributed systems
  • Security and privacy in the Web
  • Security and privacy in the Internet of Things
  • Security of mobile systems
  • Security engineering
Candidates are expected to have extensive research experience, to be internationally recognized in one of the aforementioned research areas, and to have a record of attracting external funding. The faculty provides very good opportunities for cooperation with other disciplines, such as discrete mathematics, computer networks and communication systems, operating systems and distributed systems, theoretical computer science, secure software systems, as well as with the Leibniz Institute for Innovative Microelectronics (IHP) Frankfurt (Oder). Teaching responsibilities include taking an active part in the development and management of the international master program IT Security and offering courses in German and English in the various computer science degree programs. In addition, lectures in service for study programs of other faculties are to be held.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hoch­schul­gesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
