Professorship (W3) in Landscape Planning
INSTITUTE OF LANDSCAPE PLANNING AND ECOLOGY I APRIL 1st, 2019
The professorship focuses on landscape planning and ecology on a scientific level and incorporates the knowledge gained in teaching. Besides the classical landscape planning as a cross-sectional task, applied ecology, ecosystem design and spatial environmental planning constitute another independent teaching and research area. The research projects have an interdisciplinary orientation and range from planning-related ecological research, urban ecology, development of models suitable for planning and work in real-life laboratories to political consultancy. The professorship is integrated in imparting basic knowledge within the compulsory teaching and represented in the faculty by researchrelated modules and design offers within the advanced studies. The holder of the position represents the department in both German and English degree courses as well as other programmes in which the faculty is engaged in. He/She is actively involved in the management of the English Master Course 'Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design'. The range of courses focuses on the ecological relations in the implementation of design tasks and the integration in other spatial planning strategies. In doing so, the application of ecosystem design strategies, geographical information systems and model-assisted scenario techniques constitute important teaching goals. The professorship is connected to the chair of the Institute of Landscape Planning and Ecology. The requirements for employment listed in § 47 and § 50 Baden-Württemberg university law apply.
