Professorship (W3)
in Adaptive Mechanical Systems

The applicant’s research and teaching activities are devoted to mechanics with a strong focus on analytical, numerical and experimental methods for adaptive systems. Teaching duties include the lecturing of undergraduate Mechanics courses for several BSc programs as well as an active partici­pation in the BSc/MSc program Engineering Cybernetics.

Undergraduate courses are to be held in German. The applicant is expec­ted to have a strong commitment to academic teaching and good pedagogic abilities.

The research of the applicant may cover the following core areas of interest:
  • Experimental methods of Nonlinear Mechanics
  • Adaptive vibration reduction
  • Experimental identification techniques for adaptive structures
  • Structural mechanics of smart materials
The university is looking for a personality with an eagerness to cooperate with colleagues of other institutes and faculties on interdisciplinary topics.
