The Institute of Psychology will be newly established at the University of Bremen in the Faculty 11 - Human and Health Sciences. Therefore, we invite applicants for the professor­ship (in tenured civil servant status, subject to the release of budgetary funds):

General Psychology

At the same time, we advertise professorships for General Psychology, Social Psychology and Industrial and organi­zational psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy as well as Research Methods and Evaluation in Psychology. The professorship for Developmental and Educational Psy­chology is in the process of appointing and the professorship for Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology is already filled.
We are looking for internationally renowned researchers with outstanding academic qualifications. Successful applicants are expected to represent the entire breadth and depth of their subject, both in research and teaching. Together they develop an undergraduate bachelor’s study program as well as a new master’s program in psychology. Candidates should have achieved an individual research profile including inter­nationally visible contributions in their field, an outstanding commitment and success in acquiring third-party funds as well as the willingness to contribute to one of the high-profile research areas of the university, i.e. either "Minds, Media, Machines" or "Social Change, Social Policy, and the State".
Prerequisites for an application are a completed university degree in psychology or equivalent, an outstanding doctoral degree as well as further relevant academic achievements of outstanding quality (Habilitation or equivalent achievements) and pedagogical aptitude. Applicants are expected to acquire teaching skills in the German language after a period of 2-3 years. The appointment shall be made in accordance with section 18 of the Bremen Higher Education Act (§ 18 BremHG).
