The Medical Faculty of Ulm University invites applications for the position of a
Professor (W3 oL) for Molecular Oncology
Within the program "Master 2016" of the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry for Science, Research and Arts, the Medical Faculty extends the English-language masters course "Molecular Medicine" by a specialization in "Molecular Oncology". The professorship (W3oL) will be established in close interaction with the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm (CCCU). Applicants are expected to have an outstanding, internationally competitive scientific profile in molecular oncology.
The specialization "Molecular Oncology" within the masters course "Molecular Medicine" will specifically address students with a high interest in the molecular pathogenesis of cancer. Teaching responsibilities will comprise all classes in molecular oncology. The candidate is expected to also participate in other activities of the Medical Faculty, for example, e-learning and teaching evaluation.
The professorship should strengthen the main research areas of the Medical Faculty. Furthermore, the candidate should participate in ongoing research consortia and in new collaborative research initiatives. The professorship represents the nucleus in establishing and further developing the specialization "Molecular Oncology" in Molecular Medicine.
The candidate holds a MD/PhD degree and a postdoctoral thesis or equivalent achievements, a postgraduate lecture qualification or an equivalent to the German "Habilitation". We expect outstanding expertise in oncological research and/or clinical oncology, as well as commitment and innovative ideas in the further development of the masters class.
