Professorship (W3) for Lightweight Structures, Design and Construction

We are looking for an internationally renowned personality with an excellent interdisciplinary research record (in theory and practice). It is expected that she or he will effectively strengthen the activities of Faculty 2: Civil and Environmental Engineering in Structural Engineering. The professorship is to act as a bridge to Faculty 1: Architecture and Urban Planning. In addition, there is to be close cooperation with other faculties and research initiatives, particularly within the framework of CRC/SFB 1244 "Adaptive envelopes and structures for the constructed environment of tomorrow". The position is to be filled in the context of an early succession and includes the management of the institute at the latest upon the current holder‘s retirement.

The future holder of the position represents his or her subject area in teaching, especially in the German- and English-language study courses of the faculty and in other study courses such as those of Faculty 1.

The professorship is to continue teaching and research in an interdisciplinary manner in the future, whereby the previous focal points of design and construction in lightweight construction, material-oriented lightweight construction methods, such as lightweight concrete construction, building with glass and building with textiles, as well as adaptive envelopes and structures must be further developed and augmented.
