Professor (W3) for Electrical Bionic Systems

INSTITUTE OF THEORY OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING I APRIL 1ST, 2017 The candidate has profound knowledge in the areas of fundamental principles, design, simulation and realization of innovative electric and electronic bionic sensors, actors and systems. He/she will head the attached institute.

The professor shall teach a lecture covering the fundamentals of electrodynamics in German language. In addition, the professor contributes to undergraduate as well as graduate teaching in the fields mentioned below.

The focus spans from mixed-physical simulations over new measurement techniques and processing algorithms to practical realizations of sensor-actor-systems, for example in areas such as medicine, automation or robotics.

The applicants are expected to have excellent scientific skills in at least two of the following topics and their methods:
  • Mixed-physical modeling and numerical simulation
  • Concepts of sensor-actor-systems
  • Realization and application of electrotechnical bionic systems
  • Sensor-specific measurement and analysis methods
  • Bionic systems based on nano or quantum technologies
The professor is expected to contribute actively to interdisciplinary research projects at the university level as well as in close collaboration with academic and industrial partners. A successful career in the private sector is desirable.
