The Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences of Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg, invites applications for a
Economics, especially Regional and Applied Economics (Allgemeine Volkswirtschaftslehre, insbesondere Regionalökonomik und angewandte Wirtschaftsforschung)commencing at the earliest opportunity.
The successful candidate is responsible for research and teaching in the areas of regional economics and empirical economics. The teaching load includes courses in the core curricula of the Faculty’s Bachelor and Master Programs. Therefore, experience in teaching courses for a larger number of students, not only majoring in economics, is helpful. The successful applicant is also expected to be active in the supervision of PhD students.
We expect a research focus on the quantitative empirical analysis of research questions broadly within the field of regional economics. A focus within the field on topics that are of some relevance for policy-making and take institutional and political influences into consideration would be beneficial.
The successful candidate has an excellent publication record with publications in high-ranked international journals. In addition, an active interest in conducting applied third-party funded projects including political counselling would be beneficial.
We also expect the successful candidate to be willing to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation within the Faculty, as well as within the BTU core research areas "Energy Efficiency and Sustainability" and/or "Smart Regions and Heritage".
