The Faculty of Modern Languages at the Goethe University Frankfurt, Department of Romance Studies, welcomes applications for the following full time position starting October 1st 2018:

Professor (W3, full professorship)
»Didactics and Romance Studies«

The successful candidate will represent the Didactics of Romance Languages and Literature program by conducting research and teaching a broad range of courses. Expertise in the field of Didactics of Literature and Culture is desired. Candidates should have an outstanding, relevant dissertation as well as additional academic credentials (e.g., junior professorship, Habilitation, equivalent postdoctoral achievements). Experience applying for third-party funding is expected.
The selected candidate will share responsibility for the teacher education programs for French, Spanish, and Italian (Haupt- and Realschule, Gymnasium). Collaboration is expected with the colleagues in Romance Literature and Romance Linguistics, other didactics sections within the Faculty of Modern Languages (Fachbereich 10), as well as with the Academy for Research on Education and Teacher Education (ABL) at Goethe University.
As the position is part of the department‘s teacher training program, we seek a candidate with specialized experience in this field who will participate in initiatives related to empirical educational research across faculty lines. Three years of school-related experience and a willingness to supervise student teaching in the schools are also expected.
The designated salary for the position is initially based on "W3" on the German university scale or equivalent.
