Professorship (W3)
Control Systems and Power Grid
Control Technology

commencing at the earliest opportunity.
Candidates are expected to represent Control Systems and Power Grid Control Technology in the study courses Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Economics as well as in other engineering study courses. Based on founded methodical expertise in as many classical control systems areas as possible, such as:
  • modelling and simulation of complex dynamic systems;
  • estimation techniques in establishing a current status and in error detection in complex dynamic systems;
  • development of control and regulation systems for compound systems with consideration of time scales;
  • optimal control/regulation of complex systems;
  • control systems for compound systems;
future key areas for application should lie in the areas of electrical networks on all voltage levels, such as:
  • power grid control technology, integrated network management systems;
  • forecasting methods, congestion management;
  • control and regulation of compound grids with decentralized generators, storage and loads.
Further application areas should lie in control technology spectrum of simulation/ control/regulation of continuous processes. Cooperation with other subject areas is desired, too.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg – BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

Experience in the acquisition and realization of third–party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
